Compression Stockings

Compression stockings are an important step in the process of treating varicose veins following EVLT . After this minimally invasive procedure is done, a compression stocking is used for the affected leg. The stockings have a key role to play, namely by helping to increase circulation post-treatment.

Compression stockings are also useful, more generally, in the conservative management of leg edema (the build-up of fluid and swelling in the leg) and symptoms of venous insufficiency (problems with blood flow that can trigger symptoms such as aches, pains and cramping).

When compression stockings are applied, they are fitted tightly at the foot and more loosely as they make their way up the leg. There is a bit of an adjustment period, but when fit correctly they feel snug and comfortable.
